Here's the look I am after .. like a "silver bullet".
May change mind in 2 years, but I also wanna go with grey/"greyhound blue" accents interior (Whisperer's wife has neat ideas cuz I dont know crap about that really). Lobbying the Whisperer hard to let me keep ALL windows - gotta get "creative" tho ... sometime late next year/early 2020 after mechanicals get done.
Hoping to keep a clean roof look .. no AC units roof mounted. Whisperer frowns at that idea ...

Bus has AC Stan ... after conversion the question is will it do the job without some additional, strategically placed BTU's. and yes, one on the lower roof messes with scenery from the Panorama Sky View Ports.
It was getting to be a downer chief .. i have looked at 8 or so PD4501 over the course of this thread. STarted looking at other things (Wanderlodges, Crowns) .. this one, close by, great shape, indoors tho long in-op, complete pops up and voila.
This is a big project .. there will be heartbreaker and triumph. I'll have one of the 100 left, so I feel like a lucky sum-gun to chase a dream nearly 50 years old and have its realization in my grasp.
Looking forward to the road ahead.
just wish my Dad was still alive ...

I don't think you have to have roof mounts to have mini splits. I'm pretty sure they are set up like a residential unit with one compressor and condenser and a number of remote evaporators. The downside is you will lose some storage space as the central unit usually resides in a basement storage bay.

Some of those coaches had a spare tire bay behind the front bumper. If yours has one, maybe that space could be repurposed for a remote condenser.
In any case if you had to use part of a bay, it could be isolated and vented for outside intake and exhaust air for the condenser. The generator requires similar treatment.
