I have watched many episodes of Overhaulin and I doubt Chip could do anything with the 70 Imp bumpers. They are totally tucked into the body.

We took the Imperial on a nice 500 mile road trip over the Labor Day weekend. It performed absolutely flawlessly including several bouts with driving rain through the last hour and a half of the drive. Here it is in downtown Grand Haven.:sFl_america2:

This is my '70 Imperial. As I told in the welcome wagon there was some work to do for more comfort and to make the car safer: The front axle and power steering pump were completely overhauled, new brake pads, front gas shocks, transmission pan, Holley 700cfm carb, distributor, starter, Flowmaster delta flow muffler, a lot of work to get lights and flashers to work (the electric is full of Gremlins...) and some odds and ends. In the pictures you see a 2nd tank the preowner build in, we removed it. Had also a rat's nest in a fender ;)

But there are also many working items: Radio incl. 8-Track (can it be that the antenna is integrated in the windshield??), rear fan (front isn't working), power seats and windows, door lock, only one crack at the steering wheel, seats, dash and ceiling are in very good condition. Broadcastsheet is like new. Vinyl roof has one spot with hard rust under it, some small spots peel off but looks generally nice (I really can recommend Raggtopp vinyl cleaner). Paint is original with patina except the doors and rear fender on the right side. These parts got a bad repaint some day. Don't know what to do with it at the moment I will make up my mind during winter months; at first I hope to get it on the street next week and pray for no rain :icon_sunny:

Ah, I forgot one of the most important things, the car has nearly no rust except the mentioned spot under the vinyl and some small spots on a front fender!

Welcome from Frankfurt, Very nice car! Congratultions!

And yes, the '70 Imp has the antenna built in the windshield! There are 2 wires in the middle of the wildshield.

71 Imperial Lebaron 2 door HT

Here is a pic of my loaded up 71 Imperial 2 door Ht with a factory sun roof, cassette recorder and headlamp washers to name a few options. It is a rust free original car with 60K miles.
