My 300 Hurst restoration begins

Well I started the restoration of my 300 Hurst. This winter I picked up a parts car in AZ about a mile from where I bought my Hurst to perform the metal replacement with. Like most car restorations once we got into it, it was worse than it appeared. Here some pictures of it in progress. We are replacing the firewall now due to the cowl is completely rusted out.

Great job on the rear metal replacement! I did something similar on my '68 RR but the rear rails and wheelhouses were attached also. There's nothing like factory assembled replacement parts!

Love seeing the pics of the progress being made on these cars from all who take in this kind of endeavor. People only see the finished product at the shows and don't realize what it takes to do this stuff, not to mention what it takes $$$$. Keep up the awesome work. Have a great car there!

Thanks everyone! Here are a few pictures of the finished project on the rain gutter seam as well as rear window frame. Also included are some examples of the rust issues around the front and rear glass.

I'll keep you posted on the cowl and front windshield frame replacement.

Great work, but the real pain with Hursts is the hood and decklid...I've never seen a Hurst decklid sit right and the hoods often have completely rotted inner frames.
